Spring is Here!!!! March 21, 2011

The arrival of spring has always reminded me of fields and fields of beautiful tulips! Spring arrives with such energy and excitement. The breath of fresh air, buds creeping through thawing soil, the happiness of birds singing in the trees and the innate urge to clean!!!

Now in some parts of our province, spring is taking it’s time to properly arrive so this allows us the time to jump into spring cleaning without concern of missing warm weather. Our days may still be overcast but it affords the time to clean our cupboards – remove holiday season crumbs and restock with the essentials for new recipes.

Be sure to check our Heath and Safety tips section for quick and affordable ways to clean your produce as well as your kitchens. A good vinegar solution is great for cleaning cupboards as well as disinfecting the fridge. Remember to replace your baking soda package as well – rule of thumb is to replace it every month for ultimate freshness in your fridge.

If you have ideas on how to tackle spring cleaning: how best to re-organize a kitchen, best essentials for your spice rack or necessities for the fridge – send us a note as we would love to post them. As well, pass on your photos of your spring clean up escapades.

Happy Spring 2011!!!!
